HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS GREAT FRED “CURLY” NEAL PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 77. CURLY PLAYED IN OVER SIX THOUSAND GAMES IN 97 COUNTRIES FROM 1963-1985. HE IS ONE OF FIVE GLOBETROTTERS TO HAVE HIS JERSEY RETIRED.

THE CORONAVIRUS IS CAUSING ALL MAJOR SPORTS A LOT OF MONEY. THE U.S. OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC COMMITTEE TOLD CONGRESS THEY STAND TO LOSE UP TO $800 MILLION BECAUSE OF CANCELLATIONS AND POSTPONEMENTS. THE 2020 TOKYO GAMES HAVE BEEN DELAYED FOR AT LEAST A YEAR. THE USOPC IS SEEKING FEDERAL RELIEF THROUGH THE GOVERNMENT STIMULUS PACKAGE.

THE NEW MLB SEASON WAS SUPPOSED TO BE UNDERWAY AS OF THURSDAY. THE CARDINALS FIRST SERIES IN CINCINNATI WOULD BE OFF AND RUNNING, AS WOULD THE ROYALS IN CHICAGO. BOTH TEAMS WOULD HAVE PLAYED THEIR HOME OPENER NEXT THURSDAY.
