THE NFL AND ITS PLAYERS UNION ARE TRYING TO WORK OUT A NEW COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT AND AVOID A WORK STOPPAGE PRIOR TO 2021. LOOKS LIKE THEY MAY HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF GROUND TO MAKE UP, HOWEVER. A RECENT REPORT QUOTES A CUTTING JOKE UNION LEADER DEMAURICE SMITH WHEN HE SAID AT AN EVENT, “I KNOW ROGER GOODELL WANTED TO BE HERE TONIGHT, HOWEVER, LYING, CHEATING AND STEALING IS A FULL-TIME JOB.” YOU CAN BE SURE THE COMMISSIONER DIDN’T THINK THAT WAS VERY FUNNY.

NFL HALL OF FAMER ERIC DICKERSON IS THREATENING THE NFL TO LEAD A BOYCOTT OF HALL OF FAMERS AT THE LEAGUES ANNUAL HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONIES. LAST YEAR DICKERSON WAS DEMANDING LIFETIME HEALTH INSURANCE, AN ANNUAL SALARY FOR HALL OF FAMERS AND A SHARE OF LEAGUE REVENUE, THAT WOULD APPARENTLY ADD UP TO ABOUT $300,000 A YEAR. NO WORD YET ON IF THAT WILL AFFECT THIS YEARS HALL OF FAME INDUCTIONS.
